
1821-2021 Female Portraits and Contemporary Details at the time of Napoleon
AGC the Italian Association for contemporary jewellery, in collaboration with:

Fondazione Maria Cosway (Lodi, Italy)
Liceo Piazza (Lodi, Italy)
Fondazione Villa Romana Le Grotte - Portoferraio (Elba Island, Italy),
proposes the themed exhibition on the occasion of the bicentenary celebrations of the death of Napoleon Bonaparte 1821-2021. A series of female portraits in the Napoleonic era by artists such as Maria Cosway, Élisabeth-Louise Vigée Le Brun, Angelica Kauffmann, Mary Moser, Anne Seymour Damer, and the female figures closest to Bonaparte - between Lombardy and Elba - Paolina, Madame Mére Maria Letizia Ramolino, Giulia Beccaria, inspire works of contemporary jewellery.
The curators of the exhibition are preparing a bibliography and a series of iconographic references to which art-jewelers and jewelry designers (AGC members) will be able to draw inspiration and combine their works with each portrait. 4) work ready for photo shooting (28.2.2022) or professional picture to be sent by wetransfer/
google-drive (A still life session with a partner photographer will be organized. Unless otherwise
available in the budget, any author who joins will contribute to the cost of the shots)
