I suoi viaggi in Europa, infatti, l’hanno portata a far tesoro di queste nuove esperienze e ad unire le due culture, creando così un gioiello portatore di un linguaggio universale.
Shu-Lin Wu incorporates the history and culture of her country of origin in her jewellery. In recent years, she has added ceramics to her creations, a material that is typical of her native land, thus creating a link between East and West. She has kept memories of her travels in Europe and this led her to want to unite the two cultures, thus creating jewellery that brings a universal language.

L’artista ridetermina la forma mediante la sovrapposizione ed intreccio di lastre, cilindri e fili di metallo, in un continuo processo di costruzione e demolizione prima di arrivare al risultato desiderato.
Through the works of Fabrizio Tridenti, we see that the artist is in constant search of new solutions in the combination of different materials and analyzes new ways of constructing pieces, by means of a methodical study of shapes. He likes to play with materials, techniques and ideas, exploring new possibilities and coming to inventive conclusions. By means of overlapping and intertwining metal sheets, cylinders, metal wire, he invents new shapes and reformulates depths for the eye to explore, never tiring of constructing or deconstructing before reaching the desired result.

Silke Trekel costruisce strutture complesse partendo da forme elementari che vanno a riempire lo spazio circostante, così da formare figure tridimensionali. La ripetizione di elementi geometrici determina una cadenza ed un ritmo fatti di alti e bassi. L’artista è infatti interessata a creare irregolarità all’interno delle proprie strutture, in modo da far apparire casuale la giustapposizione di forme e colori. Questi contrasti vanno a creare linguaggi armoniosi ed equilibrati, traducendosi in sculture da indossare o semplicemente da ammirare.
Silke Trekel builds complex structures from basic forms, compositions that grow into the surrounding space to create three-dimensional figures. The repetition of geometric shapes results in a cadence, a rhythm that is characterized by highs and lows. The artist is interested in forming irregularities within her structures, in what could seem to be a casual juxtaposition of form and colour, volume and lightness. These contrasts create harmony and balance and are translated into sculptures to be worn or simply admired.

Questa spilla fa parte di un gruppo di un centinaio di opere. L’artista ha avuto accesso ad una cava di pietra pomice sull’isola vulcanica di Yali nell’Egeo. La parola Kosmos, utilizzata nel titolo, ha diversi significati: in greco antico vuol dire “ordine”, “armonia” o “bellezza”, ma sta anche per “gioiello” e nella lingua odierna vuol dire “popolo”; quindi a seconda di come si vuole interpretare, può assumere diversi significati, ossia “cosa dirà il popolo?”, o “cosa hanno da dire i gioielli?”. Il titolo suggerisce diverse interpretazioni e stabilisce un ponte tra ornamento ed impegno sociale.
This brooch is part of a group of over one hundred pieces. The artist had access to a pumice stone quarry on the Aegean Island of Yali. The word Kosmos used in the title has several meanings: in ancient Greek, it stands for “order”, “harmony” or “beauty”, as well as “jewellery”, but in modern day Greek it means “people”, so according to how it is interpreted, it can mean different things: “What will people say?”, or “What does jewellery have to say?”. The title is open to several interpretations and makes a connection between adornment and social engagement.

Michelle Taylor esplora i confini dei metalli industriali e del legno, attraverso lo sviluppo di tecniche e procedimenti che permettono un’espressione strutturata delle superfici e delle forme. L’opera in questione fa parte di un gruppo di gioielli che si ispirano al concetto di paesaggio metropolitano visto attraverso l’osservazione della composizione degli spazi urbani che costituiscono una città. L’artista è particolarmente interessata al rapporto tra l’ambiente costruito e gli spazi che si determinano tra gli edifici. Spazi questi, riempiti di segni fisici di vita quotidiana, che mostrano in maniera evidente l’interazione tra uomo e ambiente circostante.
Michelle Taylor explores the confines of industrial metals and wood, by adapting techniques and processes that allow an organic expression of surface and form. The piece in question is part of a group inspired by the notion of metropolitan landscape observed through compositions of urban space and the unique physical fabric that constructs a city. Of great importance to the artist is the relationship between the built environment and the spaces between and how this affects the visual vernacular of a city, including physical signs of life that portray human interaction and experience with this environment.

I gioielli di Sanna Svedestedt sono un perfetto connubio tra tradizione e innovazione. Ricorre all’utilizzo di tecniche artigianali tradizionali per la lavorazione della pelle, spingendosi sempre oltre, per tradurre il suo fare in un continuo spostamento dei limiti fisici che la lavorazione manuale impone. I suoi pezzi risultano così ampi ma leggeri, dove la percezione del tempo impiegato per la realizzazione risulta evidente e ne conferisce preziosità.
This jewellery is a perfect combination of tradition and innovation. The artist makes recourse to traditional leather working craft techniques, pushing the limits of what can be done further each time, to translate this into a continuous displacement of the physical limits that manual work requires. Her pieces are thus large but lightweight, where the perception of the time taken in the making process is clear and gives preciousness to the piece.

Bernhard Stimpfl-Abele esplora concetti di vecchio, nuovo e tutto ciò che potrebbe collocarsi in mezzo. Attraverso i gioielli dal titolo “Organic Metal”, cerca di preservare un particolare momento del processo di deperimento delle materie organiche, come se stesse scattando una fotografia di quel preciso istante. Facendo ciò, congela questo processo fermando il tempo. L’artista si serve di elementi quali la mollica di pane o frutta, materie che marciscono in fretta con il passare del tempo. Utilizza questo mezzo di espressione per sottolineare le similitudini con la vita umana: la nascita, la crescita, l’invecchiamento e la morte.
Bernhard Stimpfl-Abele explores notions of old, new and all that could be located in between. Through the jewellery under the title “Organic Metal”, he preserves a moment in time in the ageing process of organic materials, as if he were taking a photograph of that exact point in time. By doing so he freezes the ageing process, as if he were stopping the clock. To do this, the artist uses bread, dough, fruit, all elements that quickly decay with the passing of time. He uses this means of expression to underline similarities with human life: birth, development, ageing and death.

The worlds of graphic arts and painting represent experimentation and research for Maurizio Stagni, so as to bring him to transfer original and personal symbols and signs into his goldsmith art. Drawing is the first step in his work, because this how his creative process finds completion when making jewellery. Illustration and graphics consent an ironic and poetic use of symbols that are transferred onto pieces made in silver, gold and textile. He is a true artisan of art, where technical skills and a creative vision come together as one.

Le opere di Giovanni Sicuro si presentano come micro sculture dalle forme apparentemente semplici, ma in realtà composte da complesse geometrie. Nei suoi gioielli, viene bandito il concetto di ornamento classico anche se i materiali e le tecniche impiegate sono quelle dell’oreficeria tradizionale. L’artista fa un sapiente uso del colore, attraverso l’impiego dello smalto, per conferire al gioiello una nuova preziosità cromatica. La scelta dei colori, apparentemente casuale, in realtà determina una voluta nuova percezione della forma.
The works of Giovanni Sicuro resemble miniature sculptures. Seemingly simple forms, they are in actual fact complex geometrical structures. His works shun traditional jewellery, even though the materials and techniques employed come from the goldsmith’s tradition. The artist makes a skilful use of colour, through enamel, to give a new preciousness to his works. The choice of colour, apparently arbitrary, emphasizes and determines a new perception of the form.

Ama giocare con forme geometriche che nascono da disegni, schizzi preparatori. Un mondo naturale nella sua casualità, ma ben progettato nella sua distribuzione di spazi e vuoti.
As a jewellery designer Francine Schloeth investigates the limits, endurance, flexibility and preciousness of metals. At times, the surfaces are enhanced with the use of Japanese lacquer. Her jewels are the result of a strong inspiration to Minimal Art and architecture. She loves to play with geometric shapes that arise from drawings or rough sketches. A natural world in its randomness, but well designed in its distribution of spaces and voids.
